The Art of Giving Back

Being an artist is about more than creating work in the studio. It's also about being part of a creative community, supporting one another, and finding meaningful ways to give back. This fall, I've had the opportunity to do just that through two wonderful local fundraisers.

Night of 1,000 Artists | Chronogram Foundation

Over the past several months, I've been donating my time, creativity, and energy alongside Rhonda Shade and the Chronogram team to help bring the Night of 1,000 Artists fundraiser to life.

Taking place November 13–15 at the Fuller Building in Kingston, this three-day exhibition and art sale celebrates the incredible talent of our region. Artists are donating original works on paper, each offered for $150, with proceeds supporting the Chronogram Foundation's mission to champion artists, strengthen our creative community, and expand access to the arts throughout the Hudson Valley.

It's been incredibly rewarding to contribute behind the scenes to an event that brings so many artists together for a shared purpose.

Starlight Social | Full Circle Commons

I'm also happy to have donated artwork to Full Circle Commons' Starlight Social, taking place November 7 in Gardiner, NY.

This special fundraiser and it’s auction supports Full Circle Commons and its efforts to foster a more connected community. Having previously exhibited my work at Full Circle, I'm especially happy to support a place that brings people together through creativity and connection.

Why Giving Back Matters

As artists, we often rely on the support of our communities to help our work grow and reach new audiences. Giving back, whether through our artwork, our time, or our skills, feels like a natural extension of that relationship.

I'm grateful to be part of a Hudson Valley arts community filled with people who genuinely support one another. These two events are wonderful reminders that art has the power to bring people together and make a difference well beyond the canvas.

I hope you'll join me in supporting these two wonderful causes!

Much love,

Mari
