The background, inspired by lace and built up over four painstaking layers, reflects the complexity that surrounds and shapes us, especially the layered realities of womanhood.
Her hair, too, is rendered with care and depth, symbolizing the accumulation of experiences that define who we are. The way her blouse blends into the intricate backdrop is a recurring theme in my work, where figure and environment merge, blurring the lines between self and surroundings. Amelia reminds us that even in moments of quiet, there’s strength, history, and a deep connection to the world we move through.
